Karate is a Japanese Martial art meaning "empty hand", Karate is now predominantly a striking art using punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open-hand techniques. Kendo 'way of the sword' is a traditional Japanese martial art, which descended from swordsmanship (kenjutsu) and uses bamboo swords (shinai) and protective armour (bōgu).
This Class now requires a separate fee if not already a member with the BMMAC.
Arnis is the national martial art of the Philippines, which emphasise weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives, bladed weapons, and various improvised weapons, as well as "open hand" techniques without weapons.

Sambo is a dynamic martial art and combat sport originating from the Soviet Union, designed for real-world self-defense and military application. It blends techniques from judo, wrestling, and traditional Russian martial arts to create a system that emphasizes throws, submissions, and ground control. There are two main styles: Sport Sambo, which focuses on grappling and throws similar to judo, and Combat Sambo, which incorporates striking alongside grappling for a complete mixed-combat system. Known for its efficiency, adaptability, and powerful takedown strategies, Sambo is ideal for students looking to master both stand-up and ground-based combat in a fast-paced, highly practical discipline.
Mixed martial arts sometimes referred to as cage fighting, is a full-contact combat sport based on striking, grappling and ground fighting, made up from various combat sports and martial arts from around the world.
We have specialty training for those looking to enter cage fighting.
We train with rubber weapons during classes to simulate tactics to avoid and wield a variety of weapons including throwing stars, knives, nunchakus, long staff or sword and many more. This one of the most popular parts of the kids classes and teaches the pros and cons to different weapons.
Weapons are integrated within the class structure for MMA.
