Mark Trompp is one of the standout athletes at Blue Mountains Martial Arts Centre. With over 25 years of experience in martial arts, Mark has excelled across multiple disciplines, including Olympic wrestling, traditional jujitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and now Sambo. He is a 2nd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Mark is visually impaired and has consistently competed—and triumphed—against visually impaired and able-bodied athletes at the club, state, national, Pan-Pacific, and international levels. His impressive achievements include a gold medal at the BJJ NSW Championships, gold at the prestigious Combat World Games, and most recently, a silver medal at the Asia Oceania Sambo Championships.
Outside the dojo, Mark works professionally in sports massage, applying the same focus, resilience, and discipline that define his martial arts career. He is passionate about inclusion and is now mentoring and supporting other visually impaired individuals who want to experience the life-changing benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Sambo. Mark is living proof that martial arts is for everyone, and his journey continues to inspire those around him.
